Look into my eyes and see that I am not a monster. I just look like one.
Gorgon Origins
Gorgon's origins are documented in Greek and Roman Mythos. Gorgons were originally children of the god's Phorcys and Ceto. There were 3 of them, Stheno, Euryale and Medusa (Medusa being the most well known of them). Gorgons were born with human bodies and snake-like hair and were feared creatures for "turning people into stone" which was a myth created due to their scary looking nature.
What is a Gorgon?
Gorgon's are creatures with snakes for hair. They are able to entrance people and get them to stop moving by just laying eyes on them but this is temporary and more like a trance or temporary hypnosis. Their snakes produce venoms and cures that are well sought after by supernatural creatures for multitudes of reasons, especially hunters.
How to become a Gorgon
Gorgon's are only born a descendant of a female Gorgon. While both males and females can be Gorgons, only female Gorgon's can have Gorgon offspring.
Gorgon Powers
Stone Stare - This is the stare that made them famous. With one look they can make someone stop moving. This effect is temporary and works better on the weak minded or superstitious.
Seduction - This ability makes Gorgon's extremely attractive to those they are seeking to seduce.
Venom and Cure - Each Gorgon's snakes have 1 type of venom and 1 type of cure. The venom is not always deadly and the cure doesn't have to be for the venom that they produce though that is the most common.
How Gorgons stay hidden
For the most part Gorgons just utilize clever hair tricks to keep their snakes concealed. Dreadlocks, wigs, hats, bandanas. This is especially important for young Gorgons, as Gorgons get older they can exert more control over their snakes and they will stay still.
