Long distance Lover

For this character I'm looking for a person going on the Alliance 1 mission specifically. I want a sort of long distance, possibly tragic, romantic relationship to go on between my wonderful computer engineer and some pretty Ship Operations lady in the sky.

I sort of want to play it that he wanted to go but he has some medical condition that kept him grounded. The romance could have started pre-flight or happen during regular communications.
